I enjoy reading other peoples blogs and staying updated on their families though. So, I've decided to try and be better at updating everyone on our lives (assuming anyone out their in cyberspace is even remotely interested in reading about our {dull} lives).

This has definitely not been our best year, but it's also been great in so many ways. But I will be SO glad once it's finally over! Nate is busy working like crazy with all of his {mostly} successful entrepreneurial endeavors. He stays super busy and {as far as I know} loves what he does. I am baby sitting two cute kids in our home. I was a nanny for two of the cutest girls ever for about a year, but unfortunately that job ended in October. I was super sad that I wasn't going to get to see them everyday because I am really close to them. But I've had fun with these two new kids. They definitely keep me busy!

Nate and I are currently living in Bountiful in a great apartment. We have been here for a little over a year and absolutely love it (although we sure would love some more space-and maybe even a yard!). We have recently been looking to move into a {rental} home though as our needs are changing (no, we're not having a baby, lol). We are planning on staying close by though because we love this area.

We have fallen in love with our ward and for the first time since we've been married, feel like we've found where we belong. Last January we were called to be Sunbeam teachers! I was a bit hesitant at first considering I was a full time nanny for girls close to that same age group. I wasn't so sure about filling up my weekend (which was supposed to be my kid-free time) with more kids. However, I knew that the Lord wanted me to have this calling for a reason, so I gratefully accepted.

It has been a blessing to us in so many ways. I have always loved kids and enjoyed being around them. But I think over the last year I've learned a lot from those cute 3 year olds. I've learned that while kids all have their own unique personalities, I love and appreciate each one! Each child brings their own set of challenges and laughs to the table. I've learned how to work better as a team with my husband. I've learned that I can lean on him when I just don't have the strength to do what I'm supposed to. This has been a very mentally and emotionally exhausting year for me and there were so many weeks I just didn't feel up to the 2 hour challenge ahead of me. I am ashamed to say that on at least one occasion I chose to take the easy way out and stay home in my bed. When Nate came home from church one week he gave me a {get well} card that the kids made for me. I couldn't help but shed a few tears in shame but also in gratitude as I realized the love that those sweet kids have for me. I never realized how much they would count on me to be there for them.

I have been having a hard time the last couple of weeks as I realized my time with them was running out quickly. One of our sweet little girls {who can always be found attached to my side} was telling me how sad she is that she has to have a new teacher. I tried to reassure her that she was going to have so much fun in her new class {I think I was trying to convince myself more than her}. I think that the transition will be hard for some of them, but I know that they will all be ok, and so will I. I am excited to meet the cute new class that will be moving up from the nursery. I can't wait to see all the things that this new group will be able to teach me! I definitely believe that this calling has been a blessing in disguise. If I had to do this last year over again I definitely would. I honestly believe that God knows exactly what He's doing and that we just need to trust in His plan.

The Frosted Gardner

Hey everyone! Well, ok, it's not school-school. I'm going to be attending Cameo College of Essential Beauty in Murray, UT. I am going to be taking their Nail Technician courses! It is a 10 week program (which is my kind of school for sure!!). I am going in tomorrow to register and classes start on May 11! Nate and I visited with the Admissions Advisor for about an hour last week and I just love her! She is such an awesome lady and I think I will really enjoy my time there. Once I graduate I am hoping to get a fun job in a day spa somewhere close by. It'll be so nice to finally have a real career!

A lot of you probably know that I was looking for a nanny job for a while. I just couldn't find that "perfect job" and the ones that I did like just weren't falling into place. So one night Nate and I were watching Legally Blonde and it totally sparked something in me. I have always wanted to do nails, but hadn't thought much of it for a couple of years. But watching that show reminded me about that passion I had. It sounds really lame and cheesy, but that's when I realized I had finally found what I wanted to do with my life. So if any of you want your nails done-you know who to come to :-)

Curtis Leaves for the MTC

I was so good at posting last summer, but have been super terrible at it since we got home. I have quite a bit to tell though. I think I'm gonna try to break it up into individual posts to make it easier to read. I'll start with a piece of bittersweet news: my brother-in-law Curtis left for his mission on April 7 (wow, has it been that long?!). I absolutely love this kid so it was pretty hard for me to see him go. But we are all so very proud of his decision to serve the Lord.

Haha, this picture cracks me up. I can't believe it's been 6 months since my last post! People have been bugging me forever to update my blog, so here I go. I'll try to sum up the last 6 months in one post (if I can even remember that far back).

Nate and I packed up and left Memphis, TN the end of August. We drove up to Cincinnati, OH where I flew home from on September 1. Him and our puppy Memphis stayed there for about a month. I was home trying to get my business started up.

Our 1 year anniversary was on September 25! Nate had an amazing weekend planned for us when I flew to Ohio on September 23/24 (I can't remember which one, lol). We drove up to Columbus and went to a Major League Soccer game. We went to an amusement park down by Cincinnati, and lots of other fun things!

When we got home our apartment bathroom was being remodeled so we lived with my parents while that was being done. It was fun to live back at home since I moved out right after high school, but it definitely made both of us grateful for our own place! We just barely moved back in a couple of weeks ago. I'm still in the process of getting all organized, but I'll post pics when it's all done. I've completely redecorated everything so it's like having a whole fresh start!

The holidays were a lot of fun this year, but stressful. We had a lot of fun little traditions we started for our little family! Nothing too big has happened over the last few months.

Nate and I are both pushing our businesses really hard and hoping to be able to not have to go and get another job. We both love what we do and are loving making a living doing something we love! (Man, that's a lot of love in one sentence! LOL)

Click here to learn about Nate's business!

Click here to learn about Nikki's business!

That brings us to the next big event-Nate's 24th birthday! His birthday is January 12 and we celebrated together by going to dinner at Chili's and watching Avatar. It was so much fun!

Hopefully this post makes sense and isn't too jumbled! They got here on June 16th and left on the 19th. They arrived on Tuesday night at about 6 and I had dinner waiting for them. We ate chicken enchiladas and then headed out to see downtown Memphis! Nate was working that night so he didn't go with us. We rode on the Trolley and walked down Beale Street. I haven't done much sightseeing myself so it was a lot of fun!

This is in front of the FedEX Forum. It's their events stadium.

The next day Nate was able to get work off! She was such a sweet lady and it was so interesting learning a little bit about her. We were in the Civil Rights Museum there when we met her :-) Anyways, I really want to go inside the museum next time, but for now I will have to settle for just driving by.

When we got home that night Nate and Kaed went swimming! Love you!!

RIP "Grandma Jonathan"

So, this past week was not a great one. My grandma passed away on Friday. She was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer only 2 weeks prior to her death. It all happened so fast none of us were ready for it. The funeral was today and unfortunately, I was unable to fly home for it. It was really hard realizing that I was going to have to miss my own grandma's funeral, but there was just no way we could make it work.

She was actually my mom's aunt (her mom's sister), which technically makes her my great aunt, but my mom lived with her for a while when she was growing up. She was more of a mom to her and a grandma to me. I love her so much and even though we're all so sad that she's gone, we're so happy that she's finally with my grandpa and her parents again. She left behind 4 children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss her very much.

Every Christmas Eve since before I was born, our family would get together for our family party. She would always play Christmas carols on the piano and we'd all sing along. She absolutely loved playing the piano and was really good at it! I've never had a single Christmas Eve without her. Christmas Eve will never be the same without her. But even though she's gone, I know that she will always be with us in spirit. We love you and miss you Grandma! We will never forget all the wonderful memories you've left for us.

Finally 21!!!

(Readers beware-long post ahead)

So, yesterday was the big day! It was my 21st birthday!! I was really hoping that Nate would take the day off, even though he had told me before that he was going to be working. But on Thursday night, he broke the bad news to me and I wasn't very happy. I was really sad because I really wanted to go and play all day since I'm stuck in our apartment every other day.

So Friday morning came and he was supposed to go and install an alarm at like 9 am. (Luckily, they cancelled, but he didn't tell me that, so he used that time to go and get my presents.) Before he left, he dragged me out of bed into the family room. Let's backtrack real quick a week or so. Nate decided to do the "21 Days Until My Birthday". He left a present somewhere around the house for me to find everyday. I thought it was so much fun that he would do something so creative! It was a blast finding little things all around the house! He stopped like a week ago and I was all sorts of confused. But yesterday morning when he brought me into the family room, I saw that he had laid out on the floor all the gifts that he hadn't given me yet. He told me to get ready while he was gone because he had another surprise for me.

So I hurried and got ready. When he got home he made me lunch while I finished getting ready. When I walked out to the family room so that we could leave, I found another surprise in there!

He put a bow on Memphis since he was

technically one of my birthday gifts...

My cute birthday cake!

We were in a hurry to leave for the next surprise since he had to work that afternoon. So we saved the presents for later and hurried out the door. In the car, he told me that he had been planning on taking me to see the Memphis Fire Museum. I had seen a Fire Museum a couple of weeks before and had wanted to go there. (For those of you who don't know, my daddy is a retired Fireman and EMT) It ended up being a different museum than the one we had seen, but it was really neat! much the law that you have to hit the casinos on your 21st birthday. So that's exactly what we did! We headed down to Tunica which is about 30-45 minutes away from our place.

We stopped at Chic-Fil-A and grabbed some yummy milkshakes on the way down. (Their new peach ones are AMAZING in case you were wondering! Nate loved the strawberry one he got too.) Anyways, they put cherries on top and I totally tied my stem in a knot with my mouth for the first time! I guess turning 21 turns you into an amazing kisser!

<a onblur="try thing. I played a couple of bucks in the slots, but didn't really get into it. We spent most of our time walking around and just exploring the casinos. It was pretty hilarious how bad all the guards sucked at math. When they would look at my ID they would sit there forever trying to figure out how old I was. I told the one guy that today was my 21st birthday (this was at like 11:30pm) and pulled out his phone and looked at the time and was like "well it looks like you have about 3o minutes until you can go in". I just rolled my eyes and said, "Um no, TODAY is my 21st birthday. The 5th, not the 6th." He was like, "Oh ya, I guess you're right." I wanted to say, well no duh I'm right, I think I know when my own birthday is. But I just laughed and walked in.

This was the first special of the night was at the restaurant?! Chicken cordon bleu!! Unfortunately it came with pasta and they couldn't substitute potatoes, but it was still really good. The waiter even gave me a free slice of cheesecake since it was my birthday! Can anyone guess what my favorite dessert is? Yup, cheesecake! I didn't even tell him that, he just brought it out! I was really style="font-family:arial;">So Thursday, May 28 we took Memphis to see the vet. We just wanted to have him looked over to make sure everything was ok and to get him on Frontline for the fleas. When I filled out the paperwork I put that he was about 6 months old, because that's what we were told. However, when the vet looked at his teeth he said he guessed that he was closer to 5 or 5 1/2 months old. So because we weren't exactly sure of his age, the vet said that he wanted to make sure that he was current with one particular vaccine. So we had him give it to Memphis. He told us that he looked healthy and strong and was very pleased. So we went home and Nate left for work.

Later that evening I noticed that Memphis had green boogers coming out of his nose, which I thought was kind of weird. The vet was closed by this time so I called the animal hospital they refer their patients to for after hours care. They told me that they wanted to see him so I asked Kate if she could take me. When we got there the vet checked him out and said that he had an upper respiratory infection. So he gave him an antibiotic, a pain killer (he was really sore from his previous vaccination), and one other shot. He told me that Memphis would be really tired and would probably sleep all night (which I was excited about since he NEVER sleeps at night!).

On our way home he was laying on my lap. I looked down at him and realized he was panting really hard and was drooling all over himself. He was laying on his front paws and they were completely soaked with slobber. I was a little concerned so we turned up the AC, but I figured he was probably just hot and thirsty. By the time we got home (it was about a 35 minute drive) he was really limp and totally not himself. I went into my apartment and Kate left to go meet some people for dinner. I sat down on my bed with him and noticed that he was breathing really funny. He was totally weezing, he was non-responsive and was limp like a noodle. He was almost lifeless. They had told me he'd be really tired, but this just didn't seem right to me. So I freaked out and called Nate and was trying so hard not to totally lose it. He rushed home so that we could take Memphis back to the hospital.

By the time he got home I was totally freaking out and I was hysterical. He took Memphis from me and I just laid down and cried. He called the hospital and they said that we could bring him back if we wanted to. After a little bit we both decided that he seemed to be doing better. We stayed up with him for a while to make sure he was ok. I slept next to him on the couch and like most moms with sick kids I hardly slept at all. I woke up to every little noise and was constantly checking to see if he was breathing.

By the next morning he was much more responsive and seemed to be doing a lot better. He still has a boogery nose and a little cough, but overall he's doing much better. That was such a scary experience for me! I can't believe how much I love him after such a short amount of time. He drives me crazy sometimes, but I don't know what I'd do without him.

Our New Puppy!

Well, we finally got our puppy! We picked him up on Saturday. He is so dang cute! He is now about six months old. He is a very outgoing and friendly puppy. He definitely loves his mommy and daddy. He follows us everywhere we go. The first day we brought him home he followed me everywhere and wasn’t too fond of Nate. He quickly adjusted to Nate and now is comfortable with both of us. He isn’t afraid of other people which makes us very happy. He still has a bit of a cough from the Kennel Cough he had, but other than that he is doing very well.

Yesterday was Memorial Day, but it wasn’t a fun day like it always has been for me. Nate was gone from like 10 in the morning until midnight, I found out Memphis has fleas, and I was sick all day. So unfortunately we didn’t get to have a fun Memorial Day celebration, but we’ll find something fun to do soon.

Unfortunately, like I mentioned before, I found out yesterday that he has fleas! I freaked out and was bawling. I didn’t know what to do so I called Nate and he asked Kate if she could come over and help me. So we gave him a bath and vacuumed the apartment. Nate bought flea spray on his way home and I sprayed all the carpet and furniture. We are going to take him to the vet and get him some flea medicine. I haven’t been able to see fleas on him today so I’m hoping that we caught it early enough and they won’t be too hard to get rid of.

Anyways, he has definitely given me something to do! I’m always complaining about how bored I am and he definitely keeps me busy :-D He is a very good puppy, but he is not house trained so I’ve been having to deal with that. Overall, it’s been a lot of fun and I’m so glad that I finally have my puppy!

<img wanted to hear about how Nate proposed and I've been saying forever that I'd post it on here, so I've decided to finally do it. Normally I just give the really watered down version because I get really tired of telling it over and over, so now you can all just read about it!

So, last May Nate left for Florida for a month to do some work down there. He was supposed to fly home on June 15 and I was going to pick him up from the airport. Well, being the creative romantic that he is, he came up with a better plan. He flew home on Friday, June 13-but didn't tell me.

Now let's rewind a few days. My best friend Abbey said that she wanted to take me and our friend Emery out to breakfast for our birthdays on Saturday, June 14. So I agreed and Saturday morning her and Emery came to my apartment to pick me up. I had NO idea that the two of them were in on the proposal with Nate. We headed towards Salt Lake to go and eat. Keep in mind, Abbey wouldn't tell me where we were going for breakfast. Emery and I (that little stink) kept asking and asking where we were going. Emery was a great actress and was totally playing the whole thing up. She was acting completely clueless. Abbey just kept saying that it was a surprise and we'd find out soon.

After a while, I realized we were heading up to Snowbird. Snowbird has always been mine and Nate's "place". That was the first place we said I love you. Also, we had been up there another time and that night after we got back to my apartment was when Nate first brought up marriage. We had been up there a few times and just fell in love with it. It was just really special for us. So, when I realized that's where we were heading, I was a little suspicious, but just for a split second. Then I reminded myself I was supposed to pick Nate up at the airport the next day so this had nothing to do with him, and all suspicions went away.

But I asked Abbey why we were going to Snowbird and she said that she thought it would be fun if we rode the Tram to the top of the mountain and then grabbed breakfast. I was a little hesitant at first because I'm so afraid of heights, but decided that it would be fun. I had totally been texting Nate all morning and the whole way up the tram. I was telling him that we were going to Snowbird and he was like "Abbey better not be trying to steal our place!" He totally played it up! When we got to the top it was SOOO cold! It was the middle of June, so of course I had on shorts and flip flops. There was a lot of snow on the very top and I had to walk through it. My feet were frozen!

I had no clue that Nate was waiting at the top of the mountain in the medical trailer thing. He saw us come to the top so he started trying to call my cell phone to get me to turn around. But the call wouldn't go through. Then somehow he accidentally called my parents house and my dad answered. He was so caught off guard and told my dad he was about to propose and he hung up the phone. Needless to say my dad was a little flustered!

But since the phone call thing didn't work he decided to just walk up behind me. Abbey and Emery saw him coming so they tried to distract me. They had me counting all the peaks I could see and reading signs that were forever away. I was completely clueless! Then I felt somebody put their arm around me, but I just assumed it was one of them so I didn't think anything of it. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw flowers. When I turned and saw Nate standing there I scrame so loud! Everyone on the mountain turned to look and I was totally embarrassed. Even at that point I had no clue what was going on. He had been gone for a month, so I totally just assumed he was surprising me by coming home early. We hugged and kissed and we were so excited to see each other! Then, he got down on one knee. I started freaking out! I just kept saying "Oh my gosh" over and over. I was shaking SOOO bad! I am honestly so surprised I didn't collapse.

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" the ring that I had dreamed of for so long! I had found a picture of this gorgeous ring a few years ago and I cut it out and saved it. I showed it to Abbey and when she found out we were talking about getting married she stole it and texted a picture of it to Nate. He went to a bunch of different jewelers determined to find that exact ring. His persistence paid off and he found a jeweler that had it. Lucky for him, they were about to ship it out the next day because it hadn't sold for so long so they were just going to return it. Needless to say, I was so impressed at his determination to find my dream ring for me!

But after the proposal and lots of hugs Abbey and Emery left and Nate and I sat at the top of the mountain just soaking in the occasion. It was honestly so much better than I could have ever imagined! I love Nate so much and I don't know what I would ever do without him. He has made my life so amazing! He is my best friend and I love him more than words can ever say. We are truly blessed to have each other for eternity.

Fun Crafts!

So, yesterday Kate and I went on an adventure to Memphis and found Michael's. We got some really fun craft projects. I have a bunch of little keepsake items from different things Nate and I have done, ie: movie stubs, concert tickets, event programs, cards, love notes, etc. I have them all just sitting in my nightstand at home so I decided to make a fun little box to keep them all in! The pictures don't do it justice, but I thought it turned out really cute!

A Whole New Level of Boredom

So, I'm pretty sure I've just reached a whole new level of boredom. Nate has decided that he's tired of "sitting around all day and doing nothing." He must think that I have some secret life of carnivals and theme park visits when he's gone all day. I don't think he understands how insane I am going being stuck in our 2 bedroom apartment all day with no car, no one to play with (Kate works so she's not always able to do stuff), and nothing to do in our apartment but play online, tweek my already completed website, make cards with my Cricut (mind you I am VERY quickly running out of paper and supplies), and watch TV. Now to some of you that probably sounds like heaven! I thought so too until it became my daily life. It's fun to hang out and do nothing on occasion, but believe me, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

But back to my original point-he's tired of feeling like he's wasting his time. So he's decided to start selling the alarm systems, in addition to installing them. Now I'm afraid I'll never see him. It stinks so bad being home all day trying to entertain myself and then by the time he gets home be so tired from sitting around all day that I'm just ready to go to bed again. But anyways, I'm done whining :-)

Waiting Impatiently For My Puppy

So, I've decided to go ahead and name my puppy Memphis! I just think it's a fun name! I am hoping that we will be able to pick him up the middle of next week! We were supposed to pick him up on Mother's Day but he ended up getting Kennel Cough. It's generally not a really serious thing, but they took him to the vet on Monday and put him on some medication. They just want to make sure he's in good health before they let him go, which is understandable.

So, to give you a little more info on the puppy-he's 5 months old and Nate says he's a mix between a Silky and a Yorkie. We are actually adopting him from an animal rescue shelter. They took him from a breeder a few weeks ago. With the economy the way it is a lot of people are breeding dogs but then have a really hard time selling them. Then they start running out of money to take care of them. That's what happened with this particular case. From what I understand he wasn't in a terrible environment. The shelter took him and a few other dogs, but left some there too. They just really needed help taking care of them. At first I wasn't very excited about not getting the puppy directly from a breeder, but the more I've thought about it the more excited I am to get him from the shelter! I just think it will be so great to get a puppy that probably hasn't had the love and attention that it's longing for. I will love him so much and give him the best life possible! Each day I get more and more excited to go and pick him up!

I've bought him a few things so far! I can't wait to go and get the rest, but here is a pic of the things I have so far:
<img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: type='text'>A Wonderful 1st Week in Memphis

So, this last week has been a lot of emotions rolled into one. I've been happy, bored, excited, lonely, loved and so many more! I miss my family like crazy, but at the same time I absolutely love it out here and we are having lots of fun. We've made a lot of friends so far, and I hang out a lot with Kate. She is one of Nate's friends' wives. We had a lot of fun making a cute sign with my Cricut for her husbands surprise party that we threw last night.

Originally I was supposed to be working in the office out here, but when we got here we found out the job had been given to somebody else. I wasn't all that thrilled about working in the office anyways, so we made a deal that if we could have free rent we wouldn't push the job issue. So that's hopefully what's gonna go down!

So, a few days ago Nate got a phone call and he looked at who was calling and got a huge smile on his face and booked it out the front door. Of course I was instantly suspicious. He was on the phone for about 15 minutes and the second he walked in the door I was hounding him with questions. He just kept saying to not think about it, it was nothing. Of course I knew it wasn't nothing-Nate is a terrible liar. So after a while he said "please just leave it alone, it's a birthday surprise and I REALLY want to surprise you, so don't ask me anymore questions." Now, if any of you know me, you know that I HATE surprises. I'm like the most impatient person on the face of this earth! But, I finally decided to drop it because he kept begging me not to make him ruin it. The only other thing he'd tell me was that I'd find out what it was in two weeks.

As you all know, yesterday was Mother's Day. Since I'm not yet a mom, Nate made it "Wife's Day" for me :-D We went to church for the first time at our new ward. It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be! I really enjoyed the ward. It had a good mix of young and elderly people. When we got home from church Nate pulled me onto his lap and told me he had something to tell me. He said he wasn't completely honest with me when he told me I had to wait two weeks for my surprise. He said that it was a gift for "Wife's Day" and my birthday. He then told me that he was getting me a puppy!!! It is a Silky and a Yorkie mix! He is about 5 months old and he's sooo cute! I am really excited! I've wanted a Yorkie for like 8 or 9 years. We are hopefully picking him up in about 2 weeks, but we're hoping to maybe get him sooner. I have brainstormed a lot of different names, but so far my favorite is Memphis. I think it would be a fun name since that's where we live[d] when we got him! But I'm still open to suggestions, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them! I'll post pics as soon as I get him!

Walking (well, living actually) in Memphis!!

So, we finally made it!! After a 24 hour drive, we have arrived at our new home for the summer! We got here at about 10 o'clock last night. We are living in the outskirts of Memphis. The town is called Horn Lake, Mississippi. The apartment complex is sooo nice! They accidentally messed up the living arrangements and gave us a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment! It is so big!

The complex is gated, so only the people who live here can come inside, which makes me feel really safe. They have a HUGE pool! They also have a sand volleyball pit, free tanning bed, car wash, gym, and a putting green. I love it here so far. I can't wait to go and explore some more. I miss my friends and family so much, but it's nice that I have my hubby here with me!

On the way out here our camera broke. I was so mad, but Nate let me go and buy a new one! I got the hot pink Sony Cyber-shot. It's 12.1 megapixels and has SOOO many cool features! I will post pics as soon as we have the stuff we need to be able to do that.

I probably won't be working for the first few days, so that gives me some time to unpack and organize everything. It's kind of annoying though that we don't have all of our stuff! I just wish we could have shrunk it all and brought it with us! But at least we have the essentials. I will keep you updated on everything that happens!

Happy Early 21st Birthday!!

Ok, so it's been too long since I've updated this! I will start out with the amazing early birthday party my mom threw! I believe it was on Saturday, April 25. Nate and I went to the Viewmont dance concert with my family to watch Brenner perform. When we got back to my mom and dad's that night they had a birthday cake waiting for me! They sang happy birthday and we ate cake and ice cream. Then my mom pulls out a bunch of presents! I got an MP3 player, some clothes, a few movies, some CD's, a cookbook, 4th of July dishes, a beach towel and some other stuff. It was such a fun surprise! It was sad though knowing that for the first time in my life I wasn't going to be home for my birthday! And my 21st birthday of all things! But Nate and I will party hard out here to make up for it :-) My mom is so awesome! It really meant a lot to me that they did that.

Amazing Book Signing!!

So, as always, time has flown by the last few months! We are heading out to Tennessee on May 3-that's just a week and a half away!! I can't believe how soon it is. We are SOOO excited to go but I am very nervous at the same time. I think it will be a great experience for both of us but I am sure I will be super homesick. At least I will have my hubby with me :-)

Last night my mom and I had an amazing opportunity! We went to Northridge High School in Layton for an event that the Davis County Library was putting on. They had invited Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgins Clark to come and do a book signing! I have been a fan of Mary for many years. I believe I started reading her books when I was about 11 years old.

The night started out with a formal question/answer session. I never knew how funny they both are! It was really fun listening to their stories and life experiences. After that was over they sat down to sign our books!! I had them sign two of my favorite books (Two Little Girls in Blue by Mary Higgins Clark and Santa Cruise which was written by both of them.) My mom also had them sign a couple of hers. We were also able to have our picture taken with them. I will NEVER forget that experience! It was so awesome!!!

So Confused!

So, I have created like 3 blogs but every time I set one up I can never figure out how to get back in it! I guess that's the blonde in me...But hopefully this blog will be the permanent one :-) I am not very good at this whole thing, it is really confusing to me, so bear with me while I learn what the heck I'm doing.

For those of you who may not know, we were married on September 25, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of! We have enjoyed an amazing 6 months together as husband and wife. We have been living in a small one bedroom basement apartment in Farmington, UT.

We are getting ready to head to Nashville, TN for the summer.
